Sinead started her career with Hiscox in London and made the move to California to assist with the build of their US business. She has extensive experience developing insurance products and has a keen understanding of the Media E&O market. She has a deep understanding of how Media E&O Insurance can assist with the challenges faced by media organizations. Sinead's experience extends beyond her underwriting expertise as she has a keen understanding of the insurance legal landscape.

Jessica began her career as a Media & Entertainment Insurance Broker in New York and has worked at Hiscox and Axis Underwriting Media Liability.

Jay Ward Brown, a partner at Ballard Spahr, serves as outside claims advisor for MiC Specialty. Jay has been representing news and entertainment companies for more than three decades, and he litigates defamation, privacy, copyright, subpoena, and access matters in the U.S. Supreme Court, federal and state appellate courts, and trial courts around the country. Jay’s prior experience includes managing claims against media and technology companies in North America for a large US Insurance Company and he has significant experience advising insureds on risk reduction.
Jay has been described in Chambers USA as “a lawyer who delivers continuously high-quality service,” possesses “impeccable analysis and impressive writing skills,” and has a “friendly, approachable and attentive demeanor [that] sees clients wanting to use him exclusively.”
Thomas Cooper

Thomas has 20 years of claims handling experience. As a young lawyer, he began his legal career in-house defending the intellectual property of MetLife on a global stage. He started his own law firm practice focused on defending franchisees from allegations of misappropriation or misuse of trademarks, trade secrets and trade names. In 2005, he moved his career into the insurance industry and worked for several large insurers handling complex claims for Fortune 500 accounts. For over a decade, Thomas managed a claims department at a major insurance company regularly participating in mediation and arbitration proceedings for libel and slander claims. Thomas has dedicated himself to the MIC claims program where he is committed to upholding First Amendment protections and ensuring the integrity of our claims philosophy. He helps protect publishers and broadcasters and other media outlets from the numerous perils they face in the 21st century.
Thomas combines his commitment to free speech with a thoughtful approach to managing media liability and First Amendment commercial claims, contributing to MIC's mission of providing comprehensive protection and exceptional service.
